Best Upwork job alert tools in 2026, compared on the same six points
Eight ways to get new Upwork jobs the minute they post, compared on price, free trial, where alerts arrive, client filters and auto-apply. Prices checked October 29, 2026. Two of the eight are ours.
Short answer: there is no single best tool, because they differ on what you pay for. If you only need the alert, Upwork X-Ray (ours) is free and sends it to Telegram. If you want alerts plus AI proposals and a trial first, look at Vollna ($24 a month, or $16 billed yearly, 14 days free) or UpHunt ($27 a month, 7 days free). Agencies that want an AI bidder at scale look at GigRadar. If you want your phone to ring, there is OLL.E (also ours). The rest of this page puts all of them on the same six points.
Two of the tools below are ours, Upwork X-Ray and OLL.E. We list them like the others and say what they don't do. Everything about the other tools comes from their own pricing or home pages on October 29, 2026. Prices change, so check before you pay.

- A Chrome extension that scores jobs before you bid: Upwex
How we compared them
Six points, the same for every tool, taken only from what each page states: what it costs to start, whether there is a free trial, where the alerts arrive, how you filter out poor clients, whether it applies for you, and what it does not do. Where a page doesn't say, we write that it doesn't say.

The tools, one by one
Upwork X-Ray (ours)
Free alerts to Telegram. You set up to 10 keywords and the filters that matter: minimum hourly rate, minimum fixed budget, client countries, minimum client spend, and payment verified only. An AI check reads each match before it is sent, so a job that mentions your keyword in passing doesn't ping you. Best for freelancers who want alerts without a subscription. Doesn't do: write proposals or send anything but Telegram.
OLL.E (ours)
A phone app that watches Upwork, and also Gmail, Google Calendar and your phone notifications, and calls or sounds an alarm when something urgent arrives. It can draft a bid letter in the same step. There is a 7-day trial with no card. Best for people who miss a Telegram message because they are asleep or away from the phone. Worth knowing: it watches much more than Upwork, so it is more than you need if all you want is a message about new Upwork jobs. See OLL.E.
Vollna
The widest plan range of the group, from $24 a month (Essential, 5 job filters, 250 AI cover letters a month) to auto-bidding from $149. Alerts reach email, Telegram, push and RSS on Essential. A 14-day trial needs no card. Best for freelancers who want alerts, AI cover letters and analytics in one place and a trial before paying.
UpHunt
You build feeds with keyword and budget filters, and an AI reads the full job against your own prompt and scores it from 1 to 10. Alerts go to Slack, Telegram or a webhook. Basic is $27 a month; Auto-Apply is $89 with 50 auto-applies a month. Best for people who want a score they can tune rather than fixed filters.
GigRadar
Built around an AI bidder. The plans on its pricing page are lifetime: $1,697 for one profile or $2,497 for two, both on top of a $20 a month Upwork Agency Plus subscription paid to Upwork. Credits pay for proposals. Alerts go to Slack and Telegram. Best for agencies bidding at volume. The page mentions a demo, not a trial.
JobAlerts
You describe your expertise and your dealbreakers in plain English, and it matches new posts against that. Pro is $20 a month with 150 credits (about 75 jobs researched and pitched), Max is $75. It can research a client inside Claude or ChatGPT. Alerts go to email and Slack. The 7-day trial takes a card at signup. Best for people who want research on the client as well as the job. The domain upworkalerts.com now redirects to it.
GigUp
You paste your profile and a search link, and it scores each new job against your skills and sends an alert above your threshold. It never applies for you. Basic is $9 a month with email alerts; Telegram and Slack come with Pro ($29) and Agency ($99). Best for freelancers who want to apply by hand but not waste time on weak matches.
Upwex
A Chrome extension and dashboard that scores jobs before you bid, drafts cover letters, autofills the proposal form and can bid automatically. Flex is $7.99 a month, with a 7-day trial and no card. It mentions email reports and Upwork page notifications, not Telegram or Slack. Best for people who work inside Upwork in the browser all day.
What to look for, whichever you pick
- Filters for poor clients. 36% of the jobs we recorded come from clients who never hired anyone, so a tool that can filter on payment verified or client spend saves you Connects. The numbers are in do Upwork clients actually hire.
- Speed. 21% of jobs already have invites out minutes after posting. An alert that arrives an hour late is not much of an alert.
- What you pay for. In several of these tools the higher plans are about AI proposals and auto-bidding, not alerts, so ask whether you will use them.
- Auto-apply. It sends proposals in your name. Read Upwork's terms on automation before you use any tool that does it.
